THE BRAND

WHO THEY ARE

Petite sells authentic mini perfumes and cosmetics — real designer fragrances in small sizes, aimed at young Indian buyers who want the brand without the bottle price.

The founder was a young entrepreneur going up against both Nykaa-scale incumbents and a sea of identical Shopify storefronts. Mini perfumes are a smart wedge — low price, high brand recognition, genuinely giftable — but the category looks the same everywhere.

So the differentiator could not be price or catalogue. It had to be personality. The brief I wrote for myself: make it look like a place, not a template.

THE PROBLEM

THE BRIEF

A young entrepreneur selling authentic mini perfumes wanted a logo, website and Instagram full of character — avoiding the typical e-commerce look.

THE RESPONSE

WHAT I DID

Designed a retro-hip psychedelic identity — “Small bottles. Big luxury.” — with lifelike AI product imagery. Built a fully functional WooCommerce store: 160+ SKUs, inventory management, and a custom WhatsApp order flow where the cart auto-generates the message. Produced reels, zodiac-sign perfume carousels, and personality-driven posts.

HOW I GOT THERE

THE THINKING

01

Refuse the default look

The client explicitly did not want the typical Shopify look. Retro-psychedelic waves and hand-drawn characters gave the store a face no template could imitate.

02

Solve the photography problem

160+ SKUs and no photo budget. AI-generated lifelike category imagery gave every product line a consistent look without a single shoot.

03

Remove the checkout friction

Small-basket buyers abandon card forms. A custom WhatsApp flow auto-generates the order message from the cart — the customer only has to hit send.

04

Buy attention where it is cheap

Targeted urban youth on beauty, fashion, fragrance and astrology interests. Zodiac-sign perfume carousels turned a personality quiz into a product page.

THE RESULT
₹630 ad spend → 20,000 reach, 350 visits, 28 orders, ₹98,000 revenue. That’s 155x ROAS on a micro-budget — and the store is still trading at petiteshop.in.
