PAPCO GLOBAL
WHO THEY ARE
The buyer here is a procurement or sourcing manager, often abroad, comparing suppliers they will never visit. They are not choosing on charm. They need to know the sizes, the GSM, the certifications, the minimum order and whether the factory can actually hold a deadline at volume.
A brochure in this category is not a brand piece. It is a qualification document — the thing that decides whether you make the shortlist or get filtered out before a conversation ever starts.
THE BRIEF
PapCo had a brochure. It was accurate, clean and completely forgettable — four pages of white cards that could have belonged to any supplier in the category.
The redesign had to do a harder job: prove the automation claim, put the full specification in the buyer’s hands, and look like a company worth importing from.
WHAT I DID
Made the cover the product. The old cover was a logo on white. The new one is kraft paper texture edge to edge — a paper bag company whose brochure feels like paper before a word is read.
Replaced claims with numbers. Up to 50 million bags a year, FSC-certified sourcing, ISO 9001, SGS, and Telangana’s first fully automated line. The old brochure said “certified paper bags” and left it there.
Photographed the machines. Rope making, rewinding, flexographic printing, slitting, and the automated bag line with auto counter and packer — each labelled. An automation claim is worth little; a picture of the line is evidence.
Put the whole specification in. Six bag types, a full size chart with dimensions, GSM and box quantities, four colours, material options and minimum order quantity. A buyer can scope and price a job without sending an email — which is precisely when they decide to send one.
Closed on credentials. Certification marks, GST, factory address, and QR codes to the site and Instagram, so a shortlisting buyer can verify the company in seconds.
THE THINKING
Work out who is actually reading
Not a consumer. A sourcing manager comparing suppliers on paper. That single decision reorders the whole document — specification moves forward, brand language moves back.
Let the material carry the brand
Kraft texture on the cover does more for a paper company than any adjective. The product is the identity.
Prove, don’t assert
Machine photography and certification marks turn “fully automated” and “certified” from claims into things a buyer can see.
Answer the email before it is sent
Sizes, GSM, box counts and MOQ printed in full. Removing friction from the quote is what gets you shortlisted.
