NAAVICK LEGAL
WHO THEY ARE
Legal websites are almost uniformly bad, and for a reason: firms fear that looking modern makes them look unserious. So they default to stock gavels, navy blue and walls of text.
Naavick wanted the opposite without losing gravitas — a site projecting trust, sophistication and dynamism. The tension between ‘alive’ and ‘authoritative’ was the whole design problem.
THE BRIEF
Replace an outdated website with something that projects trust, sophistication and dynamism — traits often missing from traditional legal sites.
WHAT I DID
Built a minimal, contemporary layout with refined contrast and subtle motion: animated sections, floating transitions, and accordion reveals that present information in digestible layers.
THE THINKING
Earn motion with restraint
Animated sections and floating transitions, but slow and subtle. Movement suggests a firm that is active; speed would suggest a startup.
Layer the information
Accordion reveals let a visitor scan ten practice areas or read one in depth. Lawyers need detail available without it being imposed.
Lead with the institution
A Supreme Court hero and the Spirit / Skill / Speed framing put the firm’s character up front, before any service list.
